The Fellowship Joins Coalition Letter on Civilian Protection

We added our name alongside forty interfaith organizations.

The Muslim Peace Fellowship has added its name to a coalition letter on the protection of civilians, joining some forty interfaith organizations in calling on policymakers to make civilian protection the non-negotiable center of every response to the present conflicts.

The letter asks for three commitments we have long urged on our own: that aid never be used as leverage, that the laws of war be applied to allies as readily as to adversaries, and that the displaced be received as persons rather than problems.

We signed alongside Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and secular humanitarian partners — the breadth of the signatory list being, in a season of division, a small good news story of its own.
